I Believe in the Power of Movies

When some think of movies, they think of watching some over the top action movie starring Vin Diesel while eating popcorn in a crowded movie theater. But to me movies are much more than that.
Ever since I saw Star Wars for the first time when I was 6 years old I have loved movies. There is nothing more satisfying to me than escaping into the dream world of inception or the shire of lord of the rings, It’s something that today’s audiences take for granted on a day to day basis.

Think of it like this, you get home from a long, irrelevant day at whatever hell hole you spend your days at, you're feeling depressed, you have been crying uncontrollably since you drove up into the driveway. You get a carton of ice cream and the biggest spoon you could possibly find and you sit down on the couch to watch TV. The TV turns on and Office Space is playing on FX.  You hear a joke and a smile starts to grow on your drenched face, 15 minutes later you pause the movie to go to the restroom and you realized that you are no longer sad but instead you are quoting lines from the movie and laughing in your bathroom while you're not wearing pants.

What I’m trying to say is that movie can be a form of therapy for anyone, they can let us escape into a world where we can be a kid again, and that is why I believe in the power of movies, or any form of storytelling I guess, TV shows are cool too.
